Indestructible Dog Toys
If your dog is a heavy chewer, like mine, you have probably spend a small fortune on so called indestructible dog toys that have lasted, in my case, sometimes as little as 30 minutes. This has happened with toys that were actually labeled for heavy chewers. I have become quite cynical about these so called indestructible dog toys and have relied on recommendations from other dog owners when trying something new. My dog is a 2 year old mastiff/retriever mix weighing in at almost 90lbs so she has some pretty powerful jaws and therefore I am only going to list the indestructible dog toys that have withstood her punishment!
My personal reviews:
The strongest are definately the Kong and the Galileo ( I know it looks a little obscene!). We have had these two for 18 months and they have received little damage. The large Cuz is her favorite and although the first thing she did was chew off the legs and ears the ball part has survived nearly a year. I know other dog owners who actually saw off the legs before they give them to their dog. I recommend buying the largest Cuz as she can take apart the smaller ones that fit into her mouth easily in pretty quick time. The Hurley dog bone is a new addition and despite the Pet Store owners reassurances I really didn’t expect it to last but here we are 3 months later and it looks as good as new.
If your looking for an indestructible dog ball then try a La Crosse ball. They are cheap, maybe $3 each and apparently can stand-up to major punishment. Any sporting goods store will carry them.
So here they are, the four most indestructible dog toys we have found so far.
